One can see here the ”mobile” booth that is housing 4 western electric 15 horns. this was ”rolled” for cinema days, rolled back in so the theater could resume live performances. No bass no tweeter for highs as the soundtracks didn’t have a wide bandwidth. The big western electric horns ae marvelous and unparalleled in the midrange. My goal is to make them work to contemporary bandwidth expectations with modern highs and lows. the vintage bass and tweeter solutions offer the ”glamour” factor but seriously come short if you want to step outside jazz, small formations, easy playing records that ooze smooth like honey. I totally embrasse these genres but my musical tastes go way beyond. I’ll be writing on developments if this area.
